                                                                                                                Artist Statement

My greatest discoveries evolve from the artistic process of play.

I strive to be bold and fearless through the manipulation and application of materials in every  aspect of art media that I've chosen to explore along the way.

The power of play and the ability to listen to my inner voice are the substance and motivation of my artwork .

The series  Ebb and Flow    is  the example of the the power of creative play.  This series began as a simple group of squiggles that I  altered  everyday for over a  three month period of time.

Every new etching and drawing was like riding an ocean wave into shore.  A  rough and tumbling  adventure that I was determined to pursue and resulted in a series of  12 etching plates  that range in size from 2" x 4"  to 12" x 14".

Many of these  images are available  as limited edition  reproduction prints, greeting cards and journals, as well as original prints.

My greeting cards, art journals and reproduction prints begin as original Intaglio prints.

The theme's for my prints range from dragonflies in flight, a frenzy of frogs and a funky fish titled Sol-liciouse Swim .

My original Intaglio Prints are made of 100% cotton.  I use Rives BFK, Stonehenge and Strathmore printmaking paper to create my original prints.   My reproduction prints and cards are photographic reproductions created by artist / photographer  Mitch Myers, owner of Odonata Art Gallery in Mercer,Wisconsin.

New Art Work

Fonds Ferns is a new series of Intaglio prints that explores the surrealist  world of plant life, inspired by a sculpture and my beloved grandmother.

Natures Ring is one of 28 new original Intaglio Etchings created this year.  This experimental etching has taken me on a journey that was unexpected and delightful. My goal was to create a flow through out the composition that addressed my unique love for nature.
